About the Company

VST Industries Ltd aims to implement Traceability throughout their organization, from sowing/plantation to tobacco leaf export. They seek to manage their farmers, farmlands, field technicians, and tobacco procurement comprehensively. Currently, they utilize Grower Management System & Farmer Procurement System, which they intend to replace with TraceX’s solution. TraceX deployed its Goods Receipt Note (GRN) Sales/Transfer Receipt module, designed specifically to address gaps in non-monetary produce transfers — enabling seamless batch-level traceability from procurement to processing to node-level transfers.

Step-by-Step Workflow
  1. Procurement Manager Initiates the Process: 
    The process begins with the procurement manager scanning tokens issued to farmers, followed by weighing and grading the produce on the spot. 
  2. Batch Entry into Inventory: 
    Once graded, the produce is converted into a batch and scanned into the organization’s inventory, creating a unique identity for traceability and stock management. 
  3. Inter-Node Transfer: 
    The same batch is then transferred to another node or processing center — digitally logged through a sales/transfer receipt, excluding payment details. 
  4. Receiving Node Accepts Batch via GRN Scan: 
    At the new node, the batch is scanned again for GRN acceptance, completing the digital handover and allowing the next level of processing or quality checks to begin.
